Inspirational Thursday-Transformed

Today’s picture is of a beautiful butterfly from the Cockerell Butterfly Museum here in Houston. I saw this quote and the two just seemed to fit so perfectly together. I’m super happy with how it turned out, I hope you enjoy it as well.

(Photo was taken as well as altered by me, so PLEASE do not use it without my permission!)

I’ve been working to get some Halloween stuff made. Here is a preview of scrabble tiles I’m working on still. They will be mostly pendants, with a few being made into charms for purse pulls and such.

I also made some fun ones that are just general pretties.

I decided to play around and do some hand painted ones….I LOVE how these turned out.

Inspirational Thursday-To Wish You Were

Now that I’m working on getting back on track schedule, I do have a new image for “Inspirational Thursday”. The quote I used is a beautiful one, reminding us that it’s ok to be ourselves. In fact, it’s imperative for our emotional/mental well being! I searched and searched the internet trying to find the original person who said this but I guess the fairies of the internet ate that information. Some information points to Sven Goran Eriksson, some to Kurt Cobain, and alot to Unknown. Regardless of who wrote it, it’s a great one….

(Photo was taken as well as altered by me, so PLEASE do not use it without my permission!)

ToWishYouWereSomeone

I have been working on a few pieces that are starting to come together. A few pieces were relisted on Etsy. And these beautiful bracelets were listed right before I left, so I didn’t get a chance to mention them here. These were made by my shadow, aka daughter, and I could not be prouder; they are so gorgeous. I should probably ask her to make me one soon. But these are up on Etsy right now, go buy it before I snag one, possibly both.

First one she made is Purple Rose Beaded Bracelet. It has lovely shades of purple czech glass beads and an elegant rhinestone rose button.

BPrplMixRoseBttnArt

This next bracelet that she made is called Midnight Beauty Bracelet. She used swarovski elements bicones, glass pearls, seed beads and a glass button for the closure.

Here is the pic of the relisted rings….

And some relisted bracelets…

You can find all of the items for sale up on our Etsy site here. I still have a few things that are in the works so I will have a new post sometime next week. To keep up to date, see fun pics and get sneak peaks at what’s going on in our studio, like us on facebook.

Green Sauce Chicken Enchiladas Recipe…

I know I haven’t posted since I got back a few weeks ago. I’m so sorry for that. Oh my dear God, it’s been hectic around here. With my vehicle still out of commission, the kids going back to school and trying to get the house in order I haven’t had alot of time to do much of what I want to do. I did manage to work on these photos and the recipe for this dinner tho! YAY!!

Me: 1 Life: too many to count

GrnSauceChknNchlds1

Hrm, what can I say about this dinner other then it’s super delish! The original recipe I found in a grocery store we have down here called HEB. I have changed/tweaked it a bit and here is the result. Make some re-fried beans and some mexican rice and you will have a fabulous Tex-Mex meal. This meal isn’t super healthy, cause frankly I eat what tastes good and if it’s healthy YAY if not, eh it TASTED GOOD!!

The recipe calls for green chili enchilada sauce. There are two brands I can attest for- Cookwell & Co., which makes a DAMN GOOD product called Two-Step Green Chile Stew Mix, or a grocery store brand from Kroger’s called Green Chili Enchilada Sauce. I didn’t grab a jar of the Cookwell’s but here is there website page so you can see what it looks like here. And the Kroger’s brand looks like this, if you have one near you.

Image

I don’t know about any other brands since these are pretty easy for me to get and I’m happy with how my enchiladas turn out, I haven’t tried any others.

I use Tyson can chicken cause honestly it’s easy and fast.

Image

All the good stuff mixed together and the smell of the fresh cilantro is just *long sniff* so wonderful…

Image

Rolled flour tortillas…

Image

Right before it goes into the oven…

Image

This is my tasty chicken enchiladas look like…

Image

Have I enticed you enough? This recipe really is quite easy and very tasty.

Green Sauce Chicken Enchiladas

1 pkg. 20 count flour tortillas
1 large tomato, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 cans (12.5 oz each) chunk chicken
3 cups Colby jack cheese (mild cheddar & jack), plus extra for topping
1 (16 oz.) green chili enchilada sauce (I use Kroger’s brand or Cookwell & Co. if you can find it)

Heat oven to 350F. Spray a 9×13 (3 qt.) baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix tomato, onion, cilantro, chicken and cheese in a large bowl.
Add and stir in ½ the jar of enchilada sauce.
Place 1 heaping teaspoon of chicken mixture in each tortilla and roll tightly. Place in the baking dish seam side down.
Once all tortillas (approximately 12) are rolled and in the dish, pour remaining sauce evenly over the rolled up tortillas. Cover with extra cheese as desired.
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and tortillas are golden.

For those who want to save/print this recipe, I have it up here.

We know longer have the sale going on at our shop on Etsy, but there are still some beautiful things for sale. And keep a look out for some holiday themed stuff that I’m working on. Halloween will be here quicker then we know it, then Thanksgiving and in no time BAM! Christmas.

Thanks for coming by and ’til next time…~Kells

Inspirational Thursday-Tomorrow Is A New Day

The last few weeks have been either trying or hectic. And sometimes, a good bit of both. During these moments when I want to pull my hair out, scream, cry or all of the above, I am reminded of a quote from the amazing movie Gone With the Wind. Scarlet, the leading lady, has just gone through quite an ordeal and decides that. “…After all tomorrow is another day.” . And although the character has a knack for the dramatic, she does have a point. Ralph Waldo Emerson also has a beautifully poetic quote similar to this. And tho it is far less “drama queen” in feeling, does elaborate more on the idea. I love it. So on those days when you feel over whelmed remember Emerson’s words and may they help you get into your tomorrow a little more at peace.

(Photo was taken as well as altered by me, so PLEASE do not use it without my permission!)

Only a few things went up in the Etsy shop in the last few days. I was also able to finish a few custom orders. Production/creating has slowed down considerably since this is the last few days before I go on vacation next week. Somehow every one in the house managed to get strep. It sucks trying to get everything wrapped up for the house, for the business and get packed while sick. Thankfully we have meds, so I am feeling better already. YAY!

Here are the few things we put up on Etsy. The first is a Dark Pink Skull Resin Ring. It’s hand cast in Ice Resin with Swarovski Elements in the eye sockets. It’s wicked.

RedDuoMcaSkullResinRingzhnd

Next is this really elegant Rose Garden Domino Pendant, made using one of my personal photography images. It then has multi-faceted metallic gems wrapped around the sides. And of course the top has a layer of Ice Resin for protection.

MyRosePhotoPndntArt

Last is an awesome Shimmery Red Steam Punk Resin Ring. This hand cast resin cab has watch parts, a copper coil, gears and a beautiful, shimmery red color. It’s really eye catching. There is also a copper colored ring similar to this on Etsy as well here.

RdSteampnkResnRngSd

Here is a pic of some of the custom pieces I’ve finished recently. There are several bracelets, a steampunk set (with necklace, earrings and ring), and a big bling ring.

Now, once I get back and get settled in, there will be a big announcement! I am almost more excited about it then I am my vacation! So come back or better yet, follow us on Facebook too if you haven’t already! There are fun pictures and exclusives you will only see there!

Etsy Update 7/22/13

So our sale is almost over. Awwwww! But you have til the end of tomorrow night (7/23) to order and still get the 20%off! Use SUMMERSALE in the coupon code box during checkout and Etsy will recalculate the total for you, it’s that easy.

We have some wonderful new stuff up this last week; many pendants, several rings and a couple of earrings in a variety of different designs, so there is something sparkly for everyone.

First is this shabby chic pair of earrings, Spring Garden Earrings. Teal hand cast roses, silver sparrows and clusters of colorful beads come together fabulously.

Image

Next is the Anatomical Heart Pendant, a wonderfully macabre pendant made using an image from an antique 1890’s anatomy book. The back and front of the pendant are hand painted in a faux finish and then protected by a layer of Ice Resin. This picture shows the front and back.

AntmyHrtBleedDA

The Anatomical Heart with Key Pendant is another one that is slightly different. It also uses a vintage image but this one is from a nurse’s anatomy book. How cool is that? Again, I hand painted the faux finish on each side. Then embedded the key in the Ice Resin. Here is a picture of the front and back.

AntmyHrtWthBldyKeyDA

These earrings are pretty, steam punk and practical. Is that possible? Well I tried to make Your Go To Steam Punk Earrings with the idea of being able to wear them EVERY WHERE- to the office, on your steam punk themed cruise, or the opera. Wherever with whatever.

SteamPunkGltrOvalErngsRck

Some other new stuff we posted are these pendants and necklace. The Green and Burgundy Butterfly Ceramic Focal Necklace (top left) is a truly unique piece. Starting with a beautiful ceramic focal piece, made by a talented friend of mine, this necklace was made with burgundy sari ribbon, rolo chain and sparkly Swarovski Elements bicones. This next pendant is a fun piece that I enjoyed making. Heart Aflame -Purple  (top right) is a 2″ pendant that is hand cast out of Ice Resin by me. The purple and pink flames are also designed and hand painted by me as well. Last in this picture (bottom) is another piece that is exclusive to We3 Creations. The image used in  Screw “U” Pendant was completely designed by me, so you will not find this design anywhere else. The front and back were hand painted by me for a very grungy look.

7-22-13NckPndts

Most of the rings in this next picture are re-listings but the first one is brand new! The Silver Resin Skull Ring (top left) is deliciously creepy and awesome. Hand cast out of Ice Resin and with red Swarovski Elements in the eye sockets it truly is a stunner. This next ring is super fun! Pink Punk Skull Star Marble Ring (top middle) is sparkly pink with a skull on it. It’s girly but kick @ss at the same time. In the top right is a very lovely Red Heart Marble Ring. It has a sparkly, shimmery base with hearts in every direction. The next ring, bottom left, reminds me of the sea. The Sparkly Blue Marble Ring has stunning shades of blue that shimmer and glitter depending on how the light hits it. This next ring would pair spectacularly with the Spring Garden Earrings in the first picture on this post. The Glittery Light Blue Rose Ring (bottom middle) is a beautiful teal blue rose hand cast by me. It’s gorgeous. Last but not least is the Beautiful Off White Resin Rose Ring (bottom right). It’s sweet and delicate looking, but this glittery off white rose was hand cast in Ice Resin and it’s sturdy. The colors make it very versatile, for any outfit for any season.

7-22-13Rings

I will be posting more on Etsy and updating here and on facebook til Friday. After that I will not be shipping or updating any of our sites for 2 weeks. The shop will stay open but nothing will be shipped before Aug. 14th.

Inspirational Thursday-Important To You

Today’s quote is such a great quote, I actually have it hanging on the middle of my fridge. I believe it’s something we need to be reminded of since life seems to get in the way of many things we say we want to do. I want to go skydiving. I want to lose weight. I want to eat healthier. All things that can be accomplished IF we set our minds to them and just DO them. One step is all it takes. What are you waiting for?

(Photo was taken as well as altered by me, so PLEASE do not use it without my permission!)

IfItIsImportantJpnsGrdn

New things went up in the store this week, so I’ll have pics of that tomorrow. Also our sale is still going on so if you want in on it, get some while the getting is good. 20%OFF is a great deal and won’t happen very often! Put SUMMERSALE in the coupon code during checkout and it’s yours! Next week is the last week for the sale and for me to ship anything out until I get back.

Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe…

I have a wonderful recipe I want to share today. I’ve been making it since my kid’s were just toddlers and they still get excited when I make this and they are teens now. It all started when the eldest was watching Blue’s Clues, back when Steve was on there, and the episode had Steve making banana bread with Blue. My eldest decided she wanted to make some too and asked if we could. I found the recipe on Nickolodeon’s site and we’ve been making it ever since, but I’ve modified it over the years and this is the recipe we are happy with. Doesn’t it look yummy? I add a little bit of butter on it while it’s still warm, so sweet and slightly salty. Divine.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Here is the ingredients, tho I forgot to add the Baker’s Joy cooking spray before I took the pic. DOH! But everything else you need is in the pic.

IMG_0442

Here’s a fun trick for measuring flour. Take the flat part of a knife and swipe it across, easily getting rid of the extra so you have the right amount. Here is my lovely assistant/cohort/shadow/daughter helping me make the banana bread. She’s so helpful.

IMG_0443

I used three loaf pans for one batch. One went to some friends that day. The rest was for us.

IMG_0444

Here is the size of the pans. I used disposable ones cause it was just easier, especially since we were gifting one.

IMG_0447

Here is the yummy recipe. If you love banana and chocolate you have to make this. And if you don’t like chocolate, you can always substitute it for caramel or butterscotch chips or even omit the chips altogether. The banana bread is just as great without the fancy extra of chips.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

(Based off Blue’s Clues Recipe)

1 cup sugar

1 stick margarine (room temp)

2 eggs

1 tsp. baking soda

2 cups flour

2 tsp. vanilla

dash of salt

3 ripe medium bananas, mashed

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Pam baking spray

Preheat oven to 350F. Spray loaf or muffin pan  with Pam or Baker’s Joy. If you don’t have either you can use butter or margarine to lightly grease then flour the pan.

Beat the sugar and margarine with a mixer. When it’s creamy add the eggs, baking soda, flour, vanilla, salt and bananas. Mix well. The mix might have a few lumps of banana, that’s fine. Then gently fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the banana bread mixture into the already prepared pans. Bake for about 18-22 minutes, depending on your oven. As long as the top is golden brown and a toothpick pushed into the middle of the bread comes out clean, your bread is done.

If you’d like to save this recipe to your computer or to print it easier I have a download here on google docs. Also, in case you didn’t see the other post, the Etsy shop is having a sale right now! Get 20% off, just add the code SUMMERSALE in the coupon box before you checkout to apply the discount. Hurry tho, the sale is now thru the 23rd. Our Etsy shop is here and follow us on Facebook here if you haven’t already.

Shop Sale and Etsy Update 7/15/13

I’m so sorry it’s been a bit since I posted anything much. Things have gotten even more hectic then I thought they would be for me. I do have a good bit of stuff to talk about so let’s get started!

First off there is a SALE at the Etsy shop going on right now- 20% OFF everything!! So get on over there and stock up. Make sure you use SUMMERSALE in the coupon code box BEFORE you check out. Sadly, I can’t go back and fix it after you’ve checked out. It’s a good deal and we rarely have sales, and none this big. The sale will run until the 23rd. This will give you time to buy what you want and me time to make sure everything gets shipped before I go on vacation. I won’t be putting the shop on vacation but there won’t be anything shipped out until Aug. 14th, after I get back.

There are some fun things up this last week. Just in time for the sale. A couple rings, earrings, a set and some gorgeous pendants. You should recognize a few of them from the works in progress pics a couple posts back.

Here are two pendants that I’m completely tickled with how they turned out. They faux stone cabs used are hand cast by me. The Dark Green Pendant is surrounded by beautiful cultured pearls and Purple and Copper Pendant is made with Swarovski Elements crystals. Both are very dramatic and make a statement.

SunNMoonFancyBzl

Next is this really fun Copper Steam Punk Resin Ring. This cab was also hand cast by me with all kinds of watch parts and stuff embedded in the resin. It’s classy and fun at the same time.

CpprSteamPunkRngHnd

These really fun earrings are perfect for the bling queen. They are a shimmery pink and white with gems that sparkle and catch light very well. The Pink Bling Heart Dangle Earrings are perfect for any outfit, dressy or casual.

PnkPrlHrtBlingErngRck

The next pieces in this photo have been re-listed. The first (top left) is a lovely Shimmery Purple Marble Ring that resembles a purple rose. The second (top middle), Vintage Moth Ephemera, is a beautiful set made using the images of an antique ephemera moth and newspaper. The Red Shimmer Cross, the top right, is a wonderful ring. It has a rustic look to the ring. And lastly but not least is this amazing Steam Punk Love Necklace. The focal piece was hand cast by me with  gears, a lock and key and several tiny red metallic hearts embedded in resin. It really is quite stunning.

7-15-13Relist

I will be adding more on Etsy this week and possibly a small bit next week. Plenty of stuff to use the SUMMERSALE code on. There will also be a blog post this week with a tasty bread recipe. You’ll want it so come back to see.

Inspirational Thursday-What You Do-Heraclitus

Today’s inspirational post is a beautiful and deep quote by Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher.  I think it’s something people wrestle with; who we want to be, where we want to be in life and how to make those things into a reality. The image below was NOT taken by me, it’s an awe-inspiring image from the Hubble telescope of the constellation named Cassiopeia. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Inspirational Thursday-4th of July 2013

So today’s image is NOT my own, it’s from a beautiful vintage card. I just love antique stuff like this. I found this little gem from Karen over at thegraphicsfairy.com . I hope you are inspired to have a fun but safe Independence Day. No stupid human tricks, no “hey Bob, hold my beer and watch this” and please keep your animals safe inside from all the big booms that scare them!

Image

I don’t have any photos of anything posted in Etsy this week. I’ve been trying to finish some custom orders. But I do have pics of the custom orders as well as works in progress that will be posted on Etsy this next week. If you ever see anything you would like, message me and I will post it on Etsy on reserve under your name.

This pic has some pieces that will be a necklace, a bracelet and some earrings.

IMG_2375

This pic has pieces that will be earrings mostly, a few pendants and the pretty shimmer black at the bottom is going to be a custom BIG BLING ring.

IMG_2377
